MY Baby Shower!!!!!!

Here are pictures of my shower from this weekend. It was done in light blue and brown. I love polka dots, so there were plenty. I made the cake, which was white cake with strawberry whipped filling (YUM!), and I made cake pops. There was also chunky chocolate chip cookies, Oreo balls, pecan cookie balls, fruit tray, veggie tray, spinach dip, hummus, pretzels, white chocolate covered pretzels, matching m&m's, cashews, chips and dip, and white cheddar popcorn. DELICIOUS!!! Thanks so much to Ashleigh, Linda, and Chelsea! My shower turned out better than I've ever imagined, and I am so grateful to have my friends, family, and now Clayton!Sunday, June 13, 2010
Summertime, and the icing keeps melting...

So, summer is here and so is 100 degree temps. The most important cake order I've ever had, and the weather took control. This was for a 50th wedding anniversary party given at the American Legion Hall this Saturday in Sewanee. I made 2 of the sheet cakes to go along side of a 3-tier wedding cake decorated to match, but as I said, 100 degrees and icing don't play well together. The cake was beautiful when we left the house, and less than 10 minutes later the icing was melting off of the cake! My heart sank as I pulled the cake out of the box and saw the icing sliding off of the cake. I just wanted to break down and cry because I felt so horrible about it. I am so thankful to Janice and Dina for being so understanding and nice about it. I wish I could have brought them a perfect cake. Hopefully the cake tasted good, that's the most imortant thing anyway. It was white cake with fresh strawberry filling and buttercream icing. I did not get a picture of it because we hurried to get it into the fridge. I hope to receive a picture of the whole party soon, and I hope everything else went well for them that day. Thanks again, Janice and Dina.Saturday, June 5, 2010
Showers of Happiness!
Here's a sweet wedding shower cake that says "showers of happiness". It has a gum paste umbrella on top which was supposed to have a bride and groom standing underneath, but we chose to put flowers instead. The bride picked it from the Wilton Tiered Cakes book. It is yellow cake with buttercream icing.Friday, June 4, 2010
Candy Coated Pretzels
Vanilla Candy Coated Pretzels are great for any occasion. These were made for a baby shower with pink drizzle and pink ribbon. They can be done in any color, with sprinkles, or made with milk chocolate and sprinkled with nuts. They are $11.00 per dozen individually wrapped with ribbon, or $9.00 per dozen unwrapped.Friday, April 23, 2010

Kawasaki Hat Cake

This is a Kawasaki Hat Cake I made for my friend's Dad. I was really sick with a cold and conjestion, so not my best work here. The writing is a little off center, and the bill is not the right size or in the right place. The "M" on the back is from the Monster Energy Drink. The color turned out good for Kawasaki though.Sunday, March 14, 2010
Farm Animals Cake

This is a cake I made Friday for twin boys. I didn't have a lot of time to work on it, especially the animals. But I think it came out ok. The signs are hand-painted and the animals are made out of fondant. The top tier is chocolate cake, the bottom tier is white cake, and the cupcakes are marble. For some reason I could not get a great picture of the cake, camera operator error I'm sure. But I think you can sort of get the idea of it. Monday, March 1, 2010

Mom's Graduation Cake

This is a graduation hat cake for my Mom's graduation ceremony this weekend. She went back to school to Virginia College in Birmingham, AL and is finally graduating! She is an inspiration to follow your dreams, and to be successful. I am so proud of her. She has not seen this cake yet, and it is a surprise. So if you see her, DON'T TELL!! The cake inside is super fantastic too. It is Triple Chocolate Truffle Cake. Two chocolate cake layers, chocolate truffle filling, and chocolate ganache. Good Lordy, what could be better!Sunday, February 14, 2010
Shaina's Baby Shower/Baby Shower Petit Fours

This picture was taken before the food arrived.
Shaina had tons of gifts. This was taken before all of the guests arrived.

We had such a great time at Shaina's baby shower today! We chose not to do the traditional pastel baby shower theme, but a more modern hot pink/black/white theme. We had about 15 friends and family there. We played games, talked, and had great food! I chose to do cupcake petit fours for the shower with hot pink and black daisies on top. Since it is Valentine's Day weekend, I was able to find hot pink cupcake liners! My mother-in-law, Peggy, made cute paper boxes and woven paper hearts to hold the mints and jordan almonds. Thanks to my friend Ashleigh for her help (get well soon!), Trisha, and Peggy as well.

Purple and Black Topsy Turvy Cake
This is a 3-tier topsy turvy cake iced with buttercream, with fondant decorations. It is white cake inside. Thanks, everyone, for continuing to check in on my blog. I have a lot more cakes to post; I still have to go to CVS and get them put on a disk from my phone. Hopefully I'll do that soon, I have at least 10 more to add. Thanks for all of your orders and support!Sunday, November 15, 2009
New Pics to Come!
***Hang in there! I'm having camera problems and have had to take pictures of cakes with my phone. When I get to CVS, I should have at least 5 new cakes to show. Two Topsy Turvy Cakes, a pink and black polka dot 2 tier cake, an order of baby shower cupcakes, and a cupcake cake with Mario drawn on it. Check back in a week or so to see new cakes!***
