YA'LL!!! Ya'll....I mean seriously. This has to be a recipe put out by the Devil himself. Made from scratch, moist, rich, doughnuty, cinnamon-sugary heaven. If you like old fashioned cake doughnuts and you love muffins...this is for you. This is the best of both. A moist, tender, rich cinnamon sugar flavored cake doughnut muffin! Along the lines of a great coffee cake but tastes like a doughnut. I can't even tell you how good this is!

Blue Baby Shower Cake
My cousin-in-law and I gave our other cousin a baby shower this past summer. We did it in blues and white, with cheescake brownies, lemon and almond cookies, fancy shmancy chips and spinach dip, fruit tray with dip, pinwheels, and fruited tea....oh and CAKE!!! I love the spider mums and the bows on the trays. The tea was a nice change to traditional punch which is sometimes sooooo sweet. It was refreshing since it was so hot outside (and inside too!). The cake was white velvet with citrus buttercream decorated with a big fondant bow on top. I made a really pretty diaper cake, but unfortunately I did not get a picture of it!! Oh well, maybe next time.

50th Birthday Cake with Fresh Red Roses
My husband made these beautiful cutting boards.
I helped my friend give her step-mother a wine and cheese 50th birthday party. I made the cake, the nuts, and helped with flower arranging and set-up.
My husband, Joshua, made the beautiful cutting boards that the cheese is displayed on. He is really talented. Check out his blog woodworksbyjoshua.blogspot.com .
The cake is white velvet (my new favorite) with fresh strawberry filling and citrus buttercream. There are beautiful red roses arranged on top with thin sparkle candles. The nuts are Union Station Bar Nuts deliciously made with brown sugar and rosemary. There were fruit skewers, 3 types of cheese and crackers, hummus with pita chips, Bruschetta with Panetini, chocolate covered cherries, and of course...wine. It was a beautiful party and everyone had a great time.

MY Baby Shower!!!!!!

Here are pictures of my shower from this weekend. It was done in light blue and brown. I love polka dots, so there were plenty. I made the cake, which was white cake with strawberry whipped filling (YUM!), and I made cake pops. There was also chunky chocolate chip cookies, Oreo balls, pecan cookie balls, fruit tray, veggie tray, spinach dip, hummus, pretzels, white chocolate covered pretzels, matching m&m's, cashews, chips and dip, and white cheddar popcorn. DELICIOUS!!! Thanks so much to Ashleigh, Linda, and Chelsea! My shower turned out better than I've ever imagined, and I am so grateful to have my friends, family, and now Clayton!Friday, June 4, 2010

Vanilla Candy Coated Pretzels are great for any occasion. These were made for a baby shower with pink drizzle and pink ribbon. They can be done in any color, with sprinkles, or made with milk chocolate and sprinkled with nuts. They are $11.00 per dozen individually wrapped with ribbon, or $9.00 per dozen unwrapped.
