Purple Cupcakes with Paper Picks and Fondant Flower Toppers

These cupcakes were for a University student from her mother who lives far away.  Her daughter is a freshman this year and she could not be with her on her 18th birthday.  So, she called me to make special cupcakes for her to share with her friends.  I hand made the purple polka dot picks and the fondant flower toppers.  They also have pretty pearl sugar sprinkles and purple cupcake liners.

Lofthouse Soft Sugar Cookies

I have searched for a great copycat recipe for those great soft cake-like cookies you find at Walmart called Lofthouse cookies.  These, I think, are so much better than those!  They have a lot more flavor and better texture.  Soft, buttery and sweet with awesome buttercream icing and sprinkles.  You will want to order dozens of these!

Tiki Mask and Tropical Flowers Cupcake Cake

I LOVE these cupcakes.  I made a fondant tiki mask, pineapples, and tropical flowers and displayed them to look like a Hawaiian lei.  They are yellow cupcakes with buttercream icing.

Flower Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes for a retirement party we had at work for a fellow employee.  White cake with vanilla buttercream, and chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream.  YUM!

Pink and White Polka Dots, Cupcakes, and Bows Cake

This cake is like the green, yellow, and orange one....just PINK!  It features a large cupcake shaped tier on top that can be easily removed for the little one to SMASH!  This cake was white cake for the bottom tier, dark chocolate for the middle tier, and white cake for the cupcake on top.

Princess Tiara Cake and Cupcakes

I really enjoyed making this cake.  I made the large tiara from gumpaste cut out with my cricut.  The tiara's on the cupcakes were made from fondant also cut out with my cricut.  The tiara's were brushed with silver luster dust to give them a shine.  The cupcakes were airbrushed pastel colors, and some have fondant flowers.  The flowers on the cake were airbrushed, then brushed with silver luster dust for shine.

Farm Animals Cake

This is a cake I made Friday for twin boys. I didn't have a lot of time to work on it, especially the animals. But I think it came out ok. The signs are hand-painted and the animals are made out of fondant. The top tier is chocolate cake, the bottom tier is white cake, and the cupcakes are marble. For some reason I could not get a great picture of the cake, camera operator error I'm sure. But I think you can sort of get the idea of it.

"Cake Wreck" and Topsy Turvy

There is a funny story with this cake order above. The customer's friend really likes a blog called "Cake Wreck". This blog shows all the mishaps of cake decorating from the time the order is placed, to the time the cake is delivered. The customer wanted to give her friend a bridal shower cake mimicking one of the cake wreck cakes. We also wanted to give it a "walmart tacky" look to it. The bride's name is actually Cari, but she often gets mail with her name spelled Carl so it fits into the cake wreck theme. Her cupcakes were marble, lemon and pumpkin spice flavors.

This is a fun cake for any girl. It is golden butter cake iced with buttercream and decorated with fondant.

This is a 12x8 size which will serve 15-20 people. It can be decorated any way you like for birthdays, showers, ball games, parties, or for your own indulgence! Marshmallow Fondant Cookies

I saw cookies like these on Layers of Love and thought I'd try them. They look really pretty, but I was terribly unhappy with the way they tasted. I am still searching for a great cut out sugar cookie recipe if anyone would like to share. The marshmallow fondant makes pretty decorations, but has a strange texture for cookies. Plus it takes a REALLY long time to decorate using the fondant. After a day or so the icing dries fairly hard and is more like a candy. When the marshmallow fondant is on a cake it stays more soft. As pretty as these are, I think I'll keep looking for a great cookie/icing recipe.
